Fires cause loss of millions of lives and properties each year. News will often involve simple causes like negligence in the use of candles and cigarettes which leads to fire breakouts in houses and buildings. Causes like these can be prevented and that is why it is important to disseminate safety procedures and tips to the whole community by celebrating a Fire Prevention Month.

This is a great time to review some fire safety facts in the community especially with the young people to help them engage in preventive measures of fighting fires.
